Honeymoon Haven

The celebration of your marriage shouldn’t stop at your reception.  Your honeymoon is just as special as your wedding and needs almost as much preparation and planning.  But soon you’ll enjoying your time as a newlywed couple in a romantic and relaxing vacation spot.  If you’re having trouble deciding where you want to go, look no further.  We’re going to recommend some of the most romantic honeymoon destinations, both abroad and in the US.

The first honeymoon destination that comes to everyone’s mind is Paris.  It’s the city of love and the city of light.  What could be a better way to spend the beginning of your life together? Imagine walking along the Seine River hand in hand, staring at the Eiffel Tower in the distance.  Paris is great for a honeymoon all year round too, even if it’s winter, the city is always beautiful and full of history.

If you want to go on an Italian adventure, you can’t go wrong with a few days each in Venice, Rome and Florence.  All three cities are beautiful and full of life.  In Venice, you can take an unforgettable gondola ride through the city during the day.  At night you can people watch at the beautiful little cafes on the Piazza San Marco while entranced by the dueling orchestras late into the night.  In Rome, you can grab a quick gelato and walk through the Piazza Navona while discussing your visit to the Colosseum and the Vatican earlier in the day.   Florence boasts some of the best art museums in the world.  Spend the day in the Uffizi and enjoy paintings and sculptures, like The David, you only ever thought you’d see in books.

If you want to opt for something a little more tropical, Bora Bora and Tahiti in the French Polynesian islands make for a romantic and sun-filled vacation.  With crystal blue water and colorful flowers and animals everywhere, it’s what dreams are made of.  Rent one of the little huts over the water for a private and super-romantic getaway.

Want to go on an excursion close-to-home?  Did you know that Long Island, NY is a great place to honeymoon if you’re a wine lover?  You can go to all the local wineries and experience tastings of all different varieties.  The beautiful scenery doesn’t hurt the romantic vibe either. A close-to-home honeymoon, or stay-cation, can be a great option if you want to save up for the trip of a lifetime for your 5th anniversary.

If you’re looking for domestic sun and sand rather than wine in hand, check out Hawaii.  You can do anything from relax on the beach, to visiting active volcanoes, to walking through the rainforest.  Hawaii is the perfect venue for both the adventurer and the beach bunny alike.

USA, Hawaii, Oahu, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, a Nature Preserve and a Marine Life Conservation District inside a volcanic crater

So you want honeymoon that’s more low-key? Try Savannah, Georgia.  The city is full of history and charm.  The Spanish-moss covered trees that envelop the city provide the perfect backdrop for sneaking kisses while strolling through Forsyth Park.  Take a break and grab a bite to eat at any of the cozy restaurants in River Street Marketplace.

There are locations all over the globe that make for perfect Honeymoon locations.  What are your favorites? Where did you go or where are you planning on going? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram!
